Is this a bad before bed shake?

Well, we can always use a little protien before bed. I try to limit my carbs before bed. So here is what I have:

EAS Advantage Soy protien vanillia
--I picked this up to just try it out and because it was cheap at wal*mart.
Carb Countdown 2% milk 8oz
--keeps the carbs down

The reason why I ask, and I think I can answer my own question, is because I assumed that the soy protien was low/no carbs. I checked the lable out a minute ago, and it said that it had 18 or 19 grams. This sucks. So, should I just finish out the bottle and not worry about it or is that too many carbs before bed? I'm trying to cleanly bulk meaning keeping a pretty strict diet to keep the bf fairly low.
Thanks

You might want to read this before taking any more of your soy protein...

http://www.mercola.com/2005/feb/26/soy_myths.htm

# Soy impedes the sexual maturation of boys (p. 335)
# Soy accelerates the sexual maturation of girls (p. 339)
# In newborns, the hormonal effects of soy may be irreversible (p. 333)
# The average daily dose of soy estrogens in soy formula (38mg) is higher than the amounts that cause thyroid problems and endocrine disruption in adults (p. 334)

Dr. Daniel: Soy lowers Testosterone levels! Just about all soy products on the market contain the phytoestrogens (plant estrogens) known as isoflavones. Plant estrogens have lowered Testosterone levels in rats, monkeys, and other animals as well as humans. For grown men, this usually leads to decreased libido and lower sperm count. There’s an old wives tale that Japanese women punish their straying husbands by feeding them a lot of tofu!

a good alternative to soy would be a slow-release protein: http://www.supplementscanada.com/popeyes/product326.html

EAS AdvantEdge Soy Protein uses soy as an isolate so the health concerns of soy protein are removed. You will also see the addition of methionine on soy isolate supplements which increases the nutritional value and its BV (biological value) rating.

Basic soy does not contain the amino acid methionine which is responsible for protein synthesis, immune system functions and the production of glutathione. This is why original soy was avoided by many, if not all, bodybuilders. Another reason why soy wasn't very popular was that it prevented the absorption of other nutrients due to it containing Lectins.

The estrogenic effects of soy have now been found through recent studies to be tissue specific ... meaning that while it may have affects on other tissues and functions it does not affect the male reproductive system or sex hormone functions as was once believed.

As to your question on the whopping 19 carbs, it really shouldn't make much of a difference, provided you don't plan on finishing off the whole bottle in one night, lol. If you are concerned, use it a little earlier in the day.

Use a Casein protein and mix in some all natural Peanut Butter for slowing digestion. I usually eat oatmeal, peanut butter, and a protein shake before bed. Any Unsaturated fats are great before bed.

Yea, I just wanted a prebed meal. I'm not one of those carb freaks either, I just don't want to spike my blood sugar right before bed.
