How would I go about increasing strength while doing excessive amounts of cardio?

Well, I want to bulk as much as possible (until end of summer) but after that, I'm pretty much screwed cardio wise. I'll be doing near the bad end of 8-20 hours of cardio a week. I'm not dillusional enough to think a growing kid with a teenage metabolism can gain weight with this, and to be honest I couldn't give a damn about size.

It's strength I'm worried about. I don't care if I stay floating around 150 until high school, but I'm sure as hell not going to do it while losing strength.

What I'm wondering is, what's the best way to gain strength if I'm doing this much cardio? Should I be focusing on neural efficiency, or what?

What kind of training frequency/routine types would you guys recommend?

20 hours of cardio! Thats almost 3 hours a day! Good luck dude. All I can suggest is to eat like there is no tomorrow, and try and get as much rest as possible. Keep your workouts short and intense, and don't lift too often. Stick with heavy weights and low reps.

I used to teach Martial Arts 4x per week...few hours at a time...and gained weight nicely. If you spend 3 hours per day doing cardio...you have 21 left to eat...and eat a lot...

Look at navy seals and special forces .... these dudes are like are put on insane volumes of aerobic and anaerobic and everything in between resistance work and score above average on most of them....

They are however put on 6000-8000 calories a day......

...And if its primarely strength, than you should stick to the big compound movements using a westside routine or something

Hey if you eat alot you should be fine.when I was in highscholl I wrestled played baseball and played football so I mean I was pretty much doing cardio every day and it wasnt to hard to keep my strenght up.Plus I take it your still pretty young so you should be gorwing and gaining strenght still no matter what.

Become a regular at the drive through window at McDonald's. Sleep every moment you get a chance. No, honestly... like everyone states above...EAT! It's gonna be tough finding time to eat though, get agood quality weight gainer and add it to your diet. But make sure the bulk of your diet comes from real food, not just supplements. Eat every three hours.

EAT LIKE AN ETHEOPIAN WHO JUST SMOKED A JOINT AND WALKED INTO AN ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET AT KFC. ALSO I WOULDNT LIFT MORE THAN 2-3 DAYS PER WEEK AND HIT MOSTLY
COMPOUND MOVEMENTS.
