Hiit?

I want to start HIIT. There was a great site that showed what you should do and for how long, but I lost it?

Anyway, can you do it on a treadmill, or elliptical, or a stairmaster? Does it have to be done outside? How do you start? What if you are already very cardiovascularly strong?

And one dumb question..are sprints, just running really fast for 4 minutes? I am so confused. Thanks in advance!

Sprints are your max effort and speed. Try going as fast as you can absolutely your hardest run for 30 seconds, and then slow back to jogging speed for 30 seconds, that is one interval of the HIIT that I'm doing. Some people do 20 second sprints with double jog time of 40 seconds etc but generally sprints aren't much over 30 or 40 seconds. It's hard to keep up your max speed for much longer if your really going all out. Then rest jog the same time or double what your sprint time was. Do as many intervals as you can, and make sure to warm-up for at least five minutes with a good easy jogging speed.
