hard alcohol and CKD ??????????

yeah I noticed that alcohol threw out the weight loss for the day I drank, at the beginning of the diet, so I decided not to drink at all for the next 4 more weeks (6 total). AFter drinking the first week, I definitely noticed my allready impossibly slow Recovery time increasing even more on teh CKD to the point that I almost decided not to lift in an effort to not remain so sore. I just think it affects everyone differently and it really hit me hard. BTW I was drinking Knobb Creek 101 proof Bourbon.

...

Bump for this old ass thread because it has some good info for us college students on a CKD. :)

Anyone else have personal experience with this?

...what is GHB?

GHB is gamma hydroxy butyrate (or gamma hydroxybutyric acid, Sodium Oxybate). It's extremely addictive and has a tendency to be abused....lately it's become more popular among "ravers" (it's called Liquid E, and has been referred to as one of the "date rape drugs") than among bodybuilders.

Could be wrong but I believe it's a controlled substance in most states (I know it's illegal for sale or possession in Canada). Be careful with it...

Yes, it's exetremely illegal.
Some freshman girls at my college were put in the hospital after having it put into their drinks at some party.
Also, a basketball friend of mine from highschool took too much one time and ended up in the emergency room. His heart stopped for about 30 seconds before they got it going again.

So yea- be careful with it.

:in ketosis, the problem as mentioned before is alcohol will not knock you out of ketosis, but it WILL sidetrack it a bit. sometimes the bigger problem, ketosis-wise, is everything that comes along for the ride with the drink. i mean, think of it, even cuervo tequila has some sugars in there either as a result of the alcohol, or in the case of other drinks, added on for flavoring. and forget about margaritas and mudslides

in ketosis, to make an extreme example, you could theoretically consume mexican everclear (96% alcohol) and since you only need a half a shotglass to get kaplotzed, i can assure you your time out of ketosis (due to alcohol-related metabolism) will probably be shorter than the time you will spend drunk.

I think you are mistaken.

Straight tequila, straight rum or straight vodka has only alcohol calories and no sugars, i.e. No carbs. Although mixed drinks will almost definately be out.

I am curious though how a half a shot of everclear gets you trashed though as even 2 shots of 100 proof don't seem to have that effect on me.

I had this same problem with avoiding alcohol. Get some GHB, it will still make you feel drunk, it has almost 0% toxicity on the liver and it releases growth hormone which burns fat and builds muscle.

Or some weed...

GHB + weed, if used properly have VERY VERY VERY few side effects

weed is the answer. ghb is shady, its not consistant and some doses are far stronger/weaker then others. if you want something else try out dxm (chemical found in some cough medicine) ive never touched anything other then alcohol and weed, im really weary of chemicals that might have something in them that could really hurt me. (this is coming from somone who was arrested and had their stomach pumped a few months ago because i was so drunk, so take that for what its worth :) )
