Box Squats - 275 - 8X2*
Partial Deadlifts - 315 - 8X4*
Front Squats - 135 - 10X2

Low, low, low box. 2 inches below parallel. Slow, slow, slow down. Pause and explode! I am getting it and feeling it! SORE!

My box squats are finally where I want them and you guys will see next week. :)

I started partial deads every other week to start bringing up my back. As a result, my back training will be altered slightly. I will not perform deadlifts and partials in the same week. Never did partials until yesterday.

Nice work hoss. I was introduced to the wonderful world of box squats by spatts and the asylum crew. Only been doing them for about a month but one of these days I will be pushing weight like you.
 
nice man, i really need to get into squats. everyday i actaully intend to do them, something go wrong and i cant make it to the gym, its happened 3 weeks in a row now :(
 
are you doing 2 sets of 8 or 8 sets of 2 for speed?

lol, its ok, i usually plan legs on a friday, but since i started 5x5 itll be on a thursday, so even if i have to jog to the damn gym, im doing squats.

8 sets of 2 for speed :)

The only part that is fast is the concentric movement.

Thanx guys. what do you guys think about partial deads included for back priority?
 
they are a good subsitute, but you may like good mornings better. there is different ways to do them, seat ones are great as an assistance exercise. because you cant use as much weight so you can go for reps. something else you may try, i do partial rack pulls sometimes, but rounded back partial pulls are my favorite. use less weight and round your back on purpose, it is the best way to strengthen your back in its weakest position.

They've made my lower back and traps, but my entire back in general, a whole lot thicker and stronger. My pulls are finally catching up to my pushing strength as a result.

What height did you do them from? I set them at the lowest point I can in my rack, which is just below the middle of my knees. Being a LOT taller than me, you should be able to have them lower if you want, but it won't be entirely necessary to go below you knees anyway.

X, I've tried good mornings but didn't like them as much as rack deads. I think I need to learn the form better though. Time to watch some videos :)
