Coming off a high calorie diet and steroid cycle and looking for a solid maintenace diet around 3500cal/day.

Meal 1: 40 g whey
2 slices whole wheat toast
2 tsp natural peanut butter
apple or similar fiborous fruit

Meal 2: N-Large protien shake

Meal 3: 2 x canned Tuna
apple

Meal 4: N-Large protien shake

Meal 5: chicken breast or steak
brown rice
Steamed veggies or salad

Meal 6: Cottage Cheese
Yogurt

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What are your stats? Just curious because my maintenence diet is at 4000cals right now and it looks like I may have to raise that :worried: . Im thinking no way I shouldnt need that much to maintain.... Its rediculous, Im gonna be at 5000cals soon just to maintain!!

If you need 5000cal to maintain, your either an IFBB pro or you have the worlds fastest metabolism.

I'm 5'11
202 lbs
9-10% BF

Forgot to mention that I have a protien shake every night at about 4am. My dog alwys wakes me up to take a leak, so its not an inconvience for me.

Also will be having oatmeal with my last meal instead of fat free yogurt.

Looks good excpet your breaking the golden rule,

"Though shall not combine large amounts of carbs, with large amounts of FATS " IE MEal one.

Food combining is a myth (never proven to be right yet anyway). Ask any RD

I always thought that the golden Rule of BB is to have carbs with protien in every meal, because carbs have a "protein sparing" effect. No matter what type of carb.

As long as you have a good amount of carbs throughout the day (regardless of with or without protein), it will have a protein sparing effect. Fat has this effect too. The minimum amount of carbs required for your brain to function normally is about 130grams average (varies for individuals obviously).

Imo, low carb diets should only be used for couple weeks before a show. I've heard that the best bodybuilders in history used a moderate carb + high protein diet.
