Cooks, please help! can you freeze cooked chicken breasts?

I like to cook all of my food for a week or two at one time. the problem is that once it's cooked, chicken breast won't last an entire week (definitely not two weeks). If I cook the chicken on Sunday, can I put the cooked chicken directly into the freezer and then just defrost the amount I need on a daily basis? If so, once I take it out of the freezer, how long will it take to defrost and how long will it last in the fridge once defrosted? thanks!
 
I just slice it up and toss them in to a small freezer zip lock bag ( 1 bag:2 meals) and toss it into a bag to work. A week should be fine and by the end of the second week, depending on your freezer it might start to get freezer burn. (You'll have to test it out to know for sure.)

It will start to defrost while it's out of the freezer (I have a fridge and micro at the office) and shen ever I need it I toss it into the nuker for 2 min or until hot enough.
 
Actually cooked chicken breasts will most certainly "last" in the fridge for 7 days. Just store & reheat at proper temperatures. Eating cooked chicken after 7 days will not necessarily give you food poisoning.

You can also freeze cooked chix.
 
Im just givin out all my little secrets....well anyway the best and efficient way to cook and freeze meats, veggies anything is to purchase an item called the food saver. It seals your meals in an air tight bag and can be held in the freezer for up to 1-2yrs. Ive had mine for 4 yrs now and Ive experimented with frozen chicken breasts holding time at 1 yr 2 months, and I kid you not ...they tasted just as good as the 1st day they were cooked. I cant take the credit though, my girl bought it for me because she knew it would keep her out of the kitchen everyday lol.

I wonder about the "nuke" thing. Do you think that it kills nutrients when you micro food?

Heating proteins to the normal average doesnt harm them. There may be some things lost from vegetables & fruits when heated though. I need to do some research on this.
