Carbs "crash" and Needsize's 5x5 routine

I do always carb load before every workouts. I have never experienced any "carb crash" since today. I've given the Needsize routine a try and put a lot of effort on every sets (it was my second 5x5 workout). By the end of my workout my blood sugar levels went down I had to leave the gym. It never happened before. So here's my question. What do you guys do to prevent this "carb crash"? Also, Needsize, your routine is the best ever I've done.

By the way, I usally stick to low glycemic carbs. I usally load with oatmeals or fructose from juice.

Glad you like the routine. Myself, i just make sure i have carbs in my two meals I eat prior to the gym, bread with breakfast and oatmeal with lunch, I've never had a crash at the gym.. I also eat a lot of carbs post workout as well

I haven't heard that but it's certainly a possibilty if your brain is depleted of glucose. Glucose is the only food it uses. That's one reasons you can't think straight on low carbs. If you're using Glucorell R then up the carbs a little. That's why you take it, so you can up the carbs, train better, and think clearer with better focus.

I recently had this happen in the gym also, ran my shuttle run for fitness at school then worked out and damn near passed out,I think drinking a grape fruit juice during the workout may help

All i know is one time i was running lines...got down on one line did my pushups..felt this huge rush to my head..ran there and back to the next line..looked at the PT and am like what do i do now? my brain went completely blank...even though i did the same set just before...

Not to knock needsize, but I am finding that 8x5 works better. Start with what you can do 8 times for 5 sets and then at 5 lbs. a week. When your reps drop thats okay because the lowest reps per set is still over 5. Keep adding until you get down to 5x5. Just a slight variation but I thought I'd share. Just seems there is more room to grow when starting with higher reps. Anyone else notice that?
