Carbohydrates and Sleep!

I train at night and crash about 3 hours later..........I slam my PW shake immidiately, and then have a meal (heavy protein and carbs) 1-2 hours later....and a snack on protein and fats a little bit after that (prob. 5 minutes before bed)...........tell me my carb meal before bed is wrong.....

Jkurz, don't get your panites all knotted up. If you work out in the evening closer to bed time, that is a different story. But there was no mention of such. All I was saying, is that he needs no significant carb content meal before bed, provided he doesn't workout later in the day. he's not going to be doing any strenuous activity, not readin, not even clickin the remote. I see no need for any significant amount of carbs before bed. Most take a protein powder mix or meal, and perhaps some type of healthy fat source. I use a protein blend with some EFA's in it. Roughly about 14-15 grams. If I have whole food before bed, I may have as high as 20 grams before bed depending. I didn't say have zero carbs even, just to keep them low. I may have about 10-12 carbs in my meal before bed.

Now, I respectively say that you need not jump down my throat and start callin horse-shit. I hear what you're sayin, and that is a different situation then what I was referring under the circumstances, so my advice reflected such a differnece. Hear what I'm sayin as well. Get something to eat bro, you're a little cranky today. :)

See thats my argument! :) Know any links to support it?

You do not need any links for this. This is simple biology. Although your body does reduce it's metabolism during periods of rest, it does need glucose to sustain basic energy yeiling reactions.
