Bum foot...can I still shed fat??

So I went away on vacation and got planter's facitis in my left foot. I can't walk much so cardio is out. If I continue with the clean diet as well as weight's will I be able to drop fat?

I was told that I won't be able to start cardio for another 2 months. What do you think......Ang

I have had the same injury.I had a sports therapist look at it and just said it was due to overuse and strapped it up.I met a remedial masseur thro a boyfriend who just did some deep and painful massage along the length of the plantar fascia & within three weeks I was up and running again. Cycling or swimming are ideal forms of cardio whilst the injury is still painful.

You can try swimming....if you're not a good swimmer, studies show that people who aren't advanced (i.e. you're not going to hop in the pool and swim perfect front crawl/breast stroke, etc for laps and laps) can still get just as good a workout, even if you just hang onto a kickboard and kick back and forth or doggie paddle around. Also, try water jogging with a belt (or without one in deep water for an even more strenuous workout) because there is no impact whatsoever. There are lots of deep water fitness classes also free of impact on the feet. (And most of the impact in shallow water classes is light)

Thanks so much everyone! I will try the swimming and maybe the deep foot massage. My doc had said something about it but couldn't think of anyone who does it. Thanks again.......Ang
