Bench and deadlift?

Rdeliman

New member
I've been working out for 5 months now and my bench is at 250, and my deadlift is at 400 im 6,1 240 pounds and i want to get my bench and my deadlift up to a competition level how long will this take and what should i do to get it there. I got a member ship at golds gym and im able to go to the gym everyday but my bench feels like its going nowhere, my deadlift is what i excelerated in i went from 300 to 400 in 4 months on that but my bench seems stuck on 250, even though 4 months ago it was 150. If anyone can tell me how to get my bench and deadlift up to a competition level i would really aprriciate just a point in the right direction.

Those sites contain great information. A big problem with workouts is people don't change up what they are doing frequently enough.

In my opinion...your age is your largest limiting factor.

B True

A common error people your age make is thinking that working out every day is going to make you stronger. Sometimes less is more. Over training is common.

some have a tendency to focus on bench...

and there's nothing wrong with that....we all have evaluated ourselves according to how much we were pushing on bench.

Overtraining could be a problem....however....its usually not training smart.....i think the best piece of advise is to read, eat, train, read, eat, train....get your diet right...train with intensity...
