A Newb's Diet!!

This is what I ate yesterday:

1. Bowl of cereal with milk, Est. 17-20g protein
2. Bagel with peanut butter.. Bagel has 10 g of protein, PB has 7 g per serving so I'll estimate 18 grams.
3. Subway footlong sweet onion chicken teriyaki with lots of veggies. (LOADED with chicken I might add) I'll be generous and say 30g.
4. 2 large pieces of chicken with green beans and veggies
5. Protein shake 30g


A note to everyone:

I am 18 years old, still live at home, finishing up high school right now, etc., and im just starting out, so don't flame to harshly please!

Also, does anyone know how much protein a chicken burrito at Chipotle has? (with black beans, lettuce, rice, and for salsa some of the corn and some of the hot.)

No one else posted, so I'll give it a try. First, are you throwing in a steak into your cerial? Thats a lot of protien for cerial, even with nuts. Only meal I think was any good was your dinner... What are you goals?

At 18 years old, you can burn those extra carbs pretty easily. Try replacing your cerial with a good high protien shake. If your eating subways and find it difficult to get anything else, at least replace the white bread with wheat.

only count COMPLETE protein, you cannot count the protein in your cereal, just the milk

actually this is 0 grams, neither is complete protein by themselves. do a search for 'complete protein'

nothing wrong except the bread but hey you are 18, like he said use wheat bun even though it's not much different :)

welcome! you also desperately need healthy fats (EFA's) in your diet

Thanks so much for the replies...I don't mind wheat bread at all, and I actually didn't mention this before, but the type of bagel I eat is a whole wheat bagel. The brand is Orowheat...

The reason I mention that is because you mentioned the bagel needing to be complete protein, and then you later said that when I eat subway I should eat it on wheat bread. So does that make it acceptable? Also, could you explain what complete protein is?

Also, as for my goals... I want to pretty much to get bigger and stronger, become cut and increase strength and have a nice body etc.

I'm kind of smallish (currently), and as you know, very much a newb in lots of respects.

Hey bro, whats your training like??? Like Eggs??? Try some eggbeaters in the morning for breakfast also...As for real eggs limit yourself to 2 to 3 whole eggs a week too much cholesterol, and you can eat the whites all the time! I prefer egg beaters which is essentially egg whites. Also Immediatly after you work out eat a meal high in protein and moederate in carbs for recovery. Usually a protein shake or Meal replacement is perfect for this! ;)
 
ohh yeah GET 7-10 HOURS OF SLEEP EVERY NIGHT this helps growth amazingly! Try to get to bed before midnight because there is a last peak of growth hormone relase that happens during sleep prior to midnight so if your up past 12 you missed it. :)
