Chicago tries to end a 5-game run of futility at home when they host the Vancouver Canucks Thursday at United Center.

Vancouver brings a 21-14-5 overall mark (5-10-4 in the division) into this game versus a Chicago team carrying a 13-22-4 record.

In a game that potentially could see plenty of scoring, the total opened high, at 6.5. The line opened at 140 in favor of the Canucks.

Last time out, the Canucks lost to the Stars 3-1 as 165 underdogs. That contest went under the closing total.

Chicago looks to get its offence in gear today, after a lame display last game resulted in a 5-0 lost to the Oilers. The Blackhawks were underdogs in that game, which went under the closing total.

With the league's #28-ranked offence, Chicago either needs a breakout game or it's up to the defence to keep them in this one. The Blackhawks average just 2.6 goals per game.

Some trends to consider:
Vancouver is 8-4-0 SU in its last 12 games after scoring 1 to 2 goals
Vancouver is 4-0-1 OU in its last 5 games away against Chicago
Chicago is 4-0-1 OU in its last 5 games at home against Vancouver
Chicago is 1-5-0 OU in its last 6 games
Chicago is 2-10-2 OU in its last 14 at home
