WTF is up with my chest

Spud

New member
Ive been training for about 2 months now, after a two year break due to a back injury. Anyway my strength all around is going way up. I feel great in the gym, eat alot and rest enough. Though Ive noticed that my chest, mainly my upper chest seems to be shrinking instead of growing. I barely feel the pump in the gym and I dont get very sore the days after. I dont feel tight either, I feel sloppy and loose and small. I only train each body part once a week so I cant be overtraing, plus like I said Im make consistent strength gains. Anyone know why Im experiencing these problems with my chest? Its really pissing me off since my chest is what I want to grow the most.

Well, what is the status of your routine? If your upper chest is weak you better incline like hell. Give us more information about exercises, sets, weights used, and etc.

This is kinda a double post, but anyway. I do Flat DB's(12,10,8), Incline DB's(10,8,6), Incline flyes, cross overs. I train very heavy, but safe, to maximize growth. Im bulking right now so I go as heavy as I can in everything. Like I said strength is great, growth is slow. Maybe Im just a late bloomer:confused:

You know I've made some changes in my chest exercises and my upper chest started growing a lot more. Which did what I dunno - but here are the changes I implemented -

I have done incline presses with palms facing each otherin the past. Some upper chest growth but nothing major, then when I angled the DB so my palms face downwards at 45 degree angle way better chest stress and upper chest growth!

I also made my flat bench press grip slightier narrower at this time. Thumbs 3 inches from inner ring - I'm 5'9" with fairly short arms. So either one or both is causing the better upper chest growth

take from that what you will.

do incline first it will help more on pec developement and make sure to go all the weay down and pause then go back up for maximum size gains...

Just like Lord Suston says, start of with incline movements. Here might be a possible routine:

Incline Barbell Presses - 5 x 12,10,8,6,4
Parallel Dips - 3 x 6-10
Flat Bench Dumbbell Flyes - 2 x 8-10

Use between a 30 and 40 degree angle. Be sure to take the bar inch below the collarbone.

WTF ?!?!?!?!

Ok .. im picturing some crazy sh*t here.
Please re-explain this.

Yeah same here. When you tilt them are the insides of the DB's tilting towards your head or your feet(while lying on the bench).

Tilt the dumbells/palms so they face toward your feet at a 45 degree angle to your body.

I see a lot of pros in mag pics doing this, so I assume they're onto something :)
I tried it myself, and the exercise feel much more natural to me, so its halfway between a bench press and fly type grip. So your basicly having your grip somehwere between fully externally and internally rotated.
