a lot of times i am on the run and take my shaker and whey protein with me. So, ill drink the whey instead of solid foods. Since whey is fast acting, if your body doesn't use it, is it a waste? Would there be a better shake to drink throughout the day then whey? Chime in protein experts..

I'd check out proteinfactory.com. They have slow release formulas which might be a little better for you. The night formula is something you might want to look into.

i'd stick to these:

post and pre workouts: cfm whey, fast absoring

any other time: milk/egg/cassein, slow absorbing

Go with a blend

Blended protein is best. However, many blends containing milk protein or cassien do not stir or shake easily, so that a blender is a must. I would get some Pro Blen 55 by ProLab. It's got whey and egg protein and you can shake it rather easily. It tastes great too. Experiment and see which brands fit your needs. Before bed though, use a blend with slow absorbing proteins in the mix.

Yes blend is good and like slyder said just experiment. A lot of the time your might not like tast and how a product may mix.

pre and post w/o i do whey (quick)
2hrs post and beyond i either use metrx/myoplex (slow release w/ a little whey) or a whey/flax mix. whey/flax is good since the fat slows the whey down. but i always try to get in one myoplex during the day and before bedtime so i got some slow release going around a majority of the day and night, and whey to back it up inbetween.
