I am wondering whats the deal with cylcing carbs in ones diet?

I have it a wall the last couple of weeks and have kept the same weight for like 2 1/2 weeks. I have noticed my stength is building but still have about 20-30 lbs to lose right now I'm #238 i am 5'9 and I am 28 I started at like 285 in january.

I have been doing high protein and low carb diet......been keeping the carbs around 50-80 carbs daily and eating about 5 meals daily. tring to keep it clean.
thanks everyone

Are you doing any cardio? Maybe you arent working hard enough with your cardio. IMO if you can go for more than 30 minutes, you arent working hard enough. You really need to push the limits when you are doing cardio.

If you are doing cardio right you are going to need the carbs - I think 50-60 grams should be sufficient.

Any time I hit a wall I just change it up a little. If you have been doing this diet for a while maybe do something different. Go no workout, no cardio and try fasting for 3-4 days. Apple juice only. Or, maybe go the other way and carb up for a day.

Are you taking any supps? If so, try coming off for a week or two.

Carbs are the easiest source of energy for your body. The no-carb thing is supposed to get your body to burn something else for energy - fat. The thing is that your body will burn muscle in this state too. And, working out and doing cardio with no carbs in your body is considered pretty dangerous.

Not saying the no-carb thing is bad. I think it really works. But if you do it you shouldnt be working out or doing cardio.

I usually do cardo....for like 20-30 mins at least 5 days a week. I lift on m w f and then try to do cardo for 20 mins after a wookout....then on off days do like 30 mins. I am eating carb like all the green veggs.....and salad so getting carbs in there but trying to limit them.
