I know some might feel as though it could be counter productive, for me I truly enjoy pushing the volume with in reason, I never use weights I can't properly handle in a safe manner and I always drop either the weight or number of reps to be safe, I absolutely love training. The body I built in years precious was done with this kind of training, these days if I do it I only do it once or twice a week and then back down to a more normal volume work load.
