The Omega Project Log

For benchpress today I used dumbbells. Used 25lb db's for 20 slow controlled reps, 30lbs for 15 slow controlled reps, 35lbs for 10 and since I was feeling good I used the 45lbs and got 7 good slow reps. This was my best day so far, I was only resting 45 seconds between sets and still completed all reps with the weights above.

Used the smith machine for standing shoulder presses. Did 25lbs, 30lbs, 35lbs, and 40lbs for 20,15, 10, and 8 reps respectfully. Was a little worn out but still completed all reps using 2 seconds up and 2 seconds down and only resting 45 seconds between sets. (Drop set on last set of each exercise).

Starting my third week and am feeling in more control with the weights using the slow rep motion. Didn't seem like as much of a "chore" to workout today.

I need some forgiveness Omega. I had to cheat on Saturday. I'm a University of South Carolina grad and we went the the South Carolina/Alabama game in Columbia. On top of that my husband is a huge Alabama fan and I've had to listen to him all year about their national championship. Needless to say after the upset by the mighty Gamecocks I may have had a couple of drinks in celebration. (Don't worry, my husband was sober, depressed, and driving).

Well anyway, I'm back on track with my diet today and will hit Chest and Shoulders this evening.

Go Cocks South Carolina 35
Alabama 21

Nice numbers Rebecca. You are motivating me to push harder! Good job!

Another evening workout. Kind of refreshing, I haven't worked out in the evening maybe twice in the past year. Sometimes the simplest change can be motivating. (Chaperoned a kindergarten field trip to the fire station this morning......did get to see some firemen:D)

Back/Traps/Biceps today. This is the longest and hardest workout I am doing. After pulldowns, bentover rows, lat raises and shrugs I had nothing left for arms. I lowered my last weight on straight bar curls from 50 to 40lbs. I barley got 8 slow controlled reps with the 40lb bar. My arms were rubber but I was motivated so I dropped to the 20lb bar after 20 seconds and pumped out 40 reps...I couldn't believe it. I believe my strength is up and also my muscle endurance. Good diet so far this week. I'll avoid the tailgating this weekend so I should be good this weekend as well.

My biceps feel pumped, I keep flexing them for my husband.
