i just cut my hair off......... it was pretty long.......... i would hike up my shorts and pull my hair in a pony tail on top of my head....... and then my partner pointed out how much i looked like a yokozuna......... well........ only slightly smaller
but i do usually do sumo's on a platform........ that way i can go below where the ground will be......... i use a wide as posible stance and point my toes at the corners of the gym
i also am very flexible (and you should be too for proper form)...... i mean i can do the splits and i have 31 inch thighs......... but i spread my legs way out when i do them and scrape all the skin off of the front of my shins..... hurts.......... but no one in my gym can match my form
I do them with an alternate grip and feet real wide, almost touching the plates. I work them for speed, doing triples working up to heavy triples and doubles. I NEVER fail with a weight in the gym, save my max efforts for meet day. Im not a GREAT puller but I am proud of my 580 or so at 215.
