Strongmen/women - Belt question

JOKER47

Elite Mentor
I need to purchase a new belt. Primarily, for contests. I believe I have found one I like for a good price, but they have 4" and 6" belts.

I am curious as to some opinions of other strongmen who wear a belt in competition, as to whether you think the 4" or 6" belt might be "better".

I was initially thinking the 4" belt would offer less restriction, but would like some other thoughts.

Thanks

In my opinon you should buy both. You can use the 6" for events such as presses, farmer walks, yoke etc.... and the narrower 4" for tire flips etc that require more mobility

Personally, I would go with a 4". Six inches is too likely to get in the way if you have to be moving around a lot.

What belt are you thinking about getting?

Reversesexxx - I would like to try to go with one belt for simplicity sake. But that's a good idea. Thanks.

ok, but make sure that when you buy it, the name of it should be POWER belt

It certainly looks better than the one you have now. I have one of those Valeos as well, it just sits on my bedroom floor now.

I sprang for an Inzer lever belt... love it. However, you will probably be getting some pretty good bang for the buck with that one.

It is tough to tell just by looking though.

Yeah, that Valeo is pretty poor. To small now, too.:D

Thanks for the input. They have lever ones as well, but I sorta like the regular loop ones.

I don't like the double lever belts...too much to mess with ESPECIALLY when an event is over and you want the belt off FAST.

My belt is 6" and very thick (stop thinking dirty, unless Spatts reads this), single prong, and VERY long. You need a long belt to create the shelf for the continental clean.

LOL @ bfold.

That's a good price. I've seen that same belt advertised on other places for about 2 to 3 times that amount.
