Since you cannot do cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, here is what I recommend.
Take in a high percent of your carbs first thing in the morning, and early in the day. Be sure to allow for the carbs you need post training.
Try to train in the afternoon or as early in the evening as possible. Have your high glycemic carb/whey shake immediately after your last set. An hour later have another meal such as grilled chicken/fish with some complex carbs like brown rice and green veggies. Have no more carbs after that meal, and do your cardio right before bed. Just make sure you have some whey/casein combo protein right before you lay down to go to sleep.
