Dark meat tuna contains more omega 3 than white meat tuna. Most canned tuna is the white meat, or at least the lighter meat kind, because consumers like the look of it better than dark meat. (Especially the ladies who serve little white bread finger sandwiches. )
When eating canned tuna though, I'd still stick w/ the spring water kind (because I wouldn't trust the content of those packing oils) but still try to get more essential fatty acids, especially Omega 3's, from other sources. Omega 3's do so many good things for our bodies.
