Quaker oats instant bad?

I'd say instant Quaker oats are better than alot of garbage you could eat for breakfast.

However, given the choice of oats, and the relative ease of preparing slow cooking oats, why would anyone choose instant? As was mentioned, microwaving "regular" oats is only 3 minutes in the morning. Stick em in the microwave and go take a shit, or brush your teeth (or do both at the same time). By the time you come back you have a bowl of healthy, slow cooking, oatmeal.

Never mind the namby pamby flavours of that instant stuff. Just add cinnamon and some salt to your old fashioned oats (and sweetener if you desire) and chow down baby! MMMMMMMMMmmmmmm!

Process the shit out of any food and it's nutritional value goes to hell. That's what instant oats is - over processed (but still better than pop tarts...lol!).

I've been doing it for 5 yrs now. I imagine they wonder for a minute, but it's never been a problem. Just make sure you double bag in case you get a blow out.

What a good idea!! I wouldn't have thought of that.....

Can't wait to see the security people's reaction at the airport....
Should be interesting....

opening our lugges and they would see cans of tuna, whey powder, oats, etc.. and they would wonder.. who are these aliens ???

as well as being so easy to prepare regular oats also cost a fraction of the branded ones & are just as nutritionally complete.why pay extra for the fancy packaging & a bit of added sweetner?

There is no difference between the 1 minute and Old Fashion oatmeal except for physical processing that decreases the size of the actual oatmeal. The sole purpose of this is to increase cooking times. Besides the actual size of the groat/oatmeal, they are the same. The nutritional value is the same. The GI/Glycemic load difference is very marginal. Therefore, I would pick whichever one fits better to your tastes, $$$$, and time management.

The crap in the packets, which is loaded with sugar, is the junk you need to avoid.
