Pull ups / Chin ups

Finally I"m up to a whopping unassisted 2.5 x 4 sets. I'm gonna be adding this to my back routine to see what I can do with it.

that progam will be really difficult at this point imo....try it and dont get discouraged...its harder than it appears....
 
Obviously if I can only do 2.5 pulls right now mega sets are out of the question, but its a diff approach.

exactly...so how are you going to use the program then?
 
I have a question on doing chins/pulls- Why can some people do them and others can't? I can't do them w/out help and i talked to other bb's and some can do it and others can't. I've been trying for years and i'm so weak @ them, i don't know what to do to get stronger @ them so i can hit a bunch on my own. I'm strong @ doing other back ex. and i lift heavy, but when it comes to pulls/chins, forget it. It's very frustrating. Any suggestions from anyone, Sassy? Thanks!
 
I'm one of those people (until 2 weeks ago I guess, but I never really worked at it before either) -- my best Hammer Strength row is like 150 lb for some reps but never had much luck on anything other than assisted pull-ups. If you don't do them (i.e. conditioning) then it is a new move and doesnt' really seem to be well approximated by doing lat pull downs. In my opinion the best way to approach them is to have someone spot you -- support your legs -- and just keep workign at it. Even the assisted pull-up didn't get me much progress.

I'll tell you in a few weeks if my take on this program does anything in the next few weeks.
 
Follow the same schedule as I am able and build up reps. I mean, shit, gotta try it first. I'll tell you when I figure it out.
