Pre Workout Meal?

How long before you do your actual workout are you supposed to eat your pre workout meal??? I usually eat mine 35-40 minutes prior to workout, but Ive read people saying they eat 90-120 mins before working out. I usually eat a cup of oats in 8 oz milk, with a can of tuna or some other type of meat (beef, chicken) and a small salad with olive oil. Feedback appreciated!!!

agreed^, since you body will be busy digesting.

cramps are the worst whilst working out, cardio that is.

I eat a PB and Honey sandwich about 30 mins before, gives me plenty of energy, tastes awesome, and doesnt cramp me up at all!!!

But I am sure it is not healthy, nominal, or anything...so I am sure I'll get flamed LOL

Flame??? Hell no bro...whatever works for you!!!!! I have a low carb bar, some cottage cheese and some whey...oh and a hot ass coffee!!!!!!!!

I currently only have 1/2 pot of coffee. I get up at 8 am and train at 9:30. I think I will start taking a scoop of whey and 8 oz of OJ in a few days. Currently on a ketogenic diet for the last 12 days.

Blend a scoop of vanilla whey with a cup of coffee and ice and you have a damn good pre workout shake.

Cardio=first thing in the AM on an empty stomach (some people say this kills off muscle and will go off on how this is bad, the other school of thought is that it dips right into stored fat. However, it's always worked for me and for my schedule, as I don't have time to eat before cardio and wait an hour or so when I do cardio at 5 or 6am!)

Lifting: Usually in the 3-4 pm time frame, about an hour after I've eaten meal #3 (consisting of lean protein, a "good" carb, and some green veggies).
