What are you guys eating before training? I've been doing the ol' 1/2 cup oats and scoop of protein a hour - hour 1/2 prior, but beginning to think it's bogging me down......tried just a protein shake and it doesn't give me the energy. ANyone put oats in a shaker with milk and suck it down? Not sure.......
 
I used to have a tuna sandwich before and that used to hamper my workouts. Now I have a apple and a yogurt and my work outs are great.
 
4 packages of maple and brown sugar oatmeal with some type of fruit juice 45 minutes - to an hour before go time.

I just go a whole regular meal (proteins carbs and veggies) and workout 1-1.5 hours later... I have gotten used to it over time and it does not slow me down. But now I find if I do not eat that much I am dragging at the gym...

I also have about half a liter of gatorade mixed slightly strong on the way there....

If you want something more straight carbs, I think Exodus' plan sounds pretty solid...
 
I always do 1/2 cup oats w/ a scoop of whey protein. As long as I wait about an hour, I'm good to go. Yesterday I added a tablespoon of peanut butter in there and it was tasty!

lol. . . I have tried the peanut butter thing as well. . . it doesn't seem to go down as easy as oats and protein.
