ok i have a compressed disk in my back and cant do shrugs or full deads would partials be ok for me to do or would this aggrivate my back more,im tired of getting nothing done for traps or lower back,i should be back in the gym tomorrow and want to start with back, thanks for the input guys

I'm no doctor, but it seems to me that any kind of lift that compresses the spine, like a squat or dead, is gonna aggrivate a disk. I'd say for your own saftey that deads are out for you for now.

I compressed two disks in my lower back about 12 years ago. Haven't stopped lifting ever though some days I don't do anything that puts pressure on my back because I feel pain there already. I do full dead, partial deads, and heavy shrugs with no problem. Just keep your back flat and make sure you don't round at all. If you are rounding drop the weight down some.

Cheers,
Scotsman

before doing those, have you tried good morning or any variation of them? I'de advise reverse hypers. you could quite possibly totally reverse your condition with hypers. I've seen it happen more than once.

i was told no compression or anything like that, spine is good,it feels a bit better i did 2 sets of deads tonite and weighted hyperextensions with no pain except a large pump
