Ok I recently went back to work.I'm in construction and on some days I'll be picking shit up all 8 hours of work and not light shit either. I mean shit that ways 50 lbs to shit that ways a few hundred. And when i'm picking this up I can feel it in every muscle in my body.Well to get to my question, on days like this I'll be sore as hell after work. Do you think I should skip the gym on days like this.

It all depends on what you are lifting that day, and what feels worked... I would go anyway, just to be sure you are controlling the muscle that you want to work... if you notice signes of overtraining, then you may want to re-evaluate things...

I drive for UPS and lift shit for 10 hours a day non stop. You still have to go t the gym to isolate one particular muscle group. You are not doing reps in sucession. You are just doing repetition of basicall y the same movements everyday.

holy crap

Wouldnt want to step in one of those 50lb SHITS.......

Go to the gym bro, otherwise your lible to fall into the old saying that the guys use to avoid going to gym. "I dont have to work out I work out all day on my job" I think we have all heard that said, I know i have :D

What job do you do where your lifting for ten hours straight?

lifting things all day long can obviously impact your workout sessions for the worse. have you given any consideration to working out in the morning, before work, so that your muscles are at their freshest?

jmasters - so do you guys treat the packages like shit or what? ;)

Ya I hear you guys, I mean I've been going to the gym no matter what I mean on Fri I was so soar it was unbelievable, but I still went I didn't have the best workout in the world but like a few of you said if I don't go that may make me start getting a little lazy. And Trialor, no way I can lift in the morning I have to leave early for work I mean Mon-Wed I'll do about 20 min Cardio andI hav to wake up a 400 in the morning for that so pretty much liftings out of the question for the morning.Fuck it I just need another weeek or so to get back in the groove of thing at work and I should be all good.

I used to load trailers, 8 hours non stop (30 minute break). 5 days a week. Mostly light stuff, but some of the stuff would get up to 100 lbs. Anyhow, I would still workout at the gym. If I didn't lift, all my muscles would have atrophied. Loading and lifting for hours on end is an endurance test and you still need weights to keep your size. Also, make sure you eat like there is no tomorrow. That is the most important thing.
