was wondering how people feel about this 6 day split given to me by a friend/personal trainer.

monday: chest
tuesday: back thickness
wednesday: shoulders
thursday: bis and tris
friday: back width
saturday: legs

Not sure if bis/tris need a separate day of their own. People here told me to put arms in with my chest day or back days to save time.

How long have you been training? What's your training experience like? I.e. What have you tried before in terms of routines...

That's a real beginner sort of routine. A 6 day split is pretty silly in my opinion.

Oh and yes... don't dedicate a day to arms. That's a waste.

6 day splits are pushing it. are you natural? i dont understand the back thickness/width idea. what exercises are seperated between the workouts? there is no reason to seperate it like that unless youre a competitive bber with noticeable back deficiencies.

you could do:
chest/bis
legs
shoulders/tris
back

gives you more recovery time.

The first time i heard of the back width vs thickness was in DC training. In DC they are done on the same day but width refers to exercises like pullups, chins, pulldowns, etc while thickness refers to deadlifts, rack deads, barbell rows, t-bar rows, etc. So it's literally width and thickness.

i thought he was referring to the dc routines but like you said, they were never seperated. thats what confused me. i guess his friend tried to add a twist when it really doesnt make much sense.

Yeah, your right, that is what it looks like.

OP, the 6 day split in DC is recommended only for those dieting or in contest prep. These are split up so that the workouts are very short (only 1 or 2 sets each) and thus you can get on the treadmill for light walking to burn fat afterwards and recovery is easy on low cals.

This is not a "mass" split. So if you want to build then check out SoutherLords post.
