OHHH, that is the only one that I knew about but I didn't realize that they were a no-kill shelter. That is great to know.

Actually, I don't know if I have the heart to take her there. I don't really hate her. I'm just very frustrated with her. I would rather find her a family on my own if I can. I would feel guilty having her stay in a cage forever, if they don't find her a home. Bleh. I hate this guilty conscious of mine.

Devin IS allergic to her, too, though- a problem I failed to mention.

He does have to come first with me.

I'm conflicted.

Can you tell? lol.

Just find some random dood and tell him you'll sleep with him if he takes your cat.

She wouldn't be in a cage. They have no main building and all their animals are fostered. Meaning she would live in a home.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

I'm going to go home for lunch and get her.

OK on top of everything else, your son is allergic and you feel guilty dropping this cat at a no-kill shelter because.....?
heck if I know. I think I need therapy.

you know what, I never thought I would say this to you, but put a lid on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HR has a conscience, it's what makes the world a better place.
Most people would feel guilty about taking something they love and letting it live in a cage

Jesus woman!

Make sure you specify you are leaving her with the humane society and not the shelter itself. The humane society works through the shelter, but is a separate entity. The shelter is no kill, but it's the humane society that fosters the animals.

You know... that might not be a bad idea.

Not a personal attack... but think about what you just said. Take it from a woman who used to feel so much like you on so many levels, a good therapist will help you to realign your thinking so that you will be much happier.

And Nef - i want to thank you publicly for offering a REAL SOLUTION to this problem. My girls all have cats and sadly they will not be able to come to my home as my husband is deathly allergic. So it will be good to know that we will be able to take their pets to such a place knowing that they will be loved and cared for. :)

I used to volunteer with a rescue agency when I was in high school and had a lot of experience with these kinds of things. I helped to socialize feral kittens and let me tell you! That takes some kind of patience, love, and willingness to get scratched up. But it was always so rewarding when they would end up in good homes. All of the people I knew who fostered the animals loved each and every one and they made absolutely sure that the animals went to good homes.

Excuse me?

You should really chill. No need to keep pelting me with venom. I've not given you any.

You called me (and people like me) delusional because we value the life a human children more than we value the life of animals. Now you are going off on me because I was pointing out to her that there was something a bit off about her thinking that she was agonizing over the wellbeing of a CAT OVER THE WELL-BEING OF HER CHILD, something that was not made clear in the beginning.

I did not question her consciense. I was pointing out to her that in such a case she need NEVER feel guilty.
