More equipment questions (groove briefs).

More equipment questions

Yes, more equipment questions. I ordered an Inzer 13 mm double buckle belt, Inzer groove briefs, and knee wraps, and they came in today. The belt fits ok, when I tighten it up it is on the 4th or, if really tight, the 5th hole. However, I'm thinking I should have gotten a bigger belt. I dont know if I should send this back or keep this one.
Now for the groove briefs. How tight should they be? They are very tight in the leg openings, and hard to get on because of it. Is this how they should fit? Thats all I can think of right now, I'm sure I'll have more ?'s later, though.

Zack,

I have visited this issue before, you can do a search under my name, really funny actually. They should be snug and uncomfortable, yet you should be able to get them on yourself in a minute or 2. After I box squat with mine I have blood clot circles all around my legs where the leg openings are.

Dont worry they stretch after 2 or 3 sessions to fit you nicely, you'll learn to love the tightness and understand why and where they are tight. If they are too tight, then they are not good to train in, super tight briefs are probably better left for competition. If it takes you 10 mintesto get on, they are too tight. Read some posts on them.

Peace,
Mike

Thanks mike. I should have done a search first, I found a lot of info. I'm squatting today, so I'll probably try them out.

An update:
Thursday was squat day, so I used the groove briefs on my 2 heaviest sets. I think they did help some.
I definitely felt it more in the glutes than usual. Not sure if that is due to the groove briefs helping my form or if it was just the heavier weight.

Zack,

Throw the briefs on and leave them on for squat days. I'm not sure what your stance is like, but now that you have briefs, open your stance up nice and wide, the briefs will keep your hips tight and snug, trust me open it up a little.

Also learn to sit back in the briefs, show them who's boss!!!

My first session with briefs, they pulled me under, rounded my back, I wasnt used to them, a suit is even worse. Just learn to sit back in the briefs and keep them on, their is no need to only throw them on for your last 2 heavies. Train in them, get used to them.

Peace,
Mike

One more note.

There is obviously a learning process involved with them. You will learn them, Assuming they are the right size, if they are and you utilize them properly you will never use a statement like "I think they did help some"....You will KNOW they helped.

Peace,
Mike

Believe me, it is wide! I squat as wide as I can in the rack, which is pretty damn wide. I've always been a wide squatter.

I'm going to start using them on all my sets now. I currently only do 3 sets, so I just used them on the last 2. I've got one more week on this routine, then will be switching to Westside.
