Low Blood sugar

Not sure if this is something to be alarmed about, but i've been noticing lately that i am all rundown and sluggish when i don't have any sugar in the mornings. I use to always drink a few cups of coffee black or with milk, every morning and still use to get tired. Whenever i had it with lots of sugar i felt different. But i stopped drinking it and feel sleepy all damn day until i have something sweet. So now i drink a bottle of powerade or gatorade before i get to school and it gives me such a kick and not as lethargic as i use to feel. Does this mean i have low blood sugar or something?

Not necessarily, if you are always used to sugars and stop ... you will feel it.

You can get it checked if it worries you.

Yeah that sounds like hypoglycemia. I have it hardcore... there are times during the day when I'm literally dead on my feet. I can barely move, I can't even think. I may not even feel hungry, but when I have a meal I perk up immediately.

What are you eating in the mornings???

B True

Mornings always consist of 3-4 eggs with a plate of bacon and toast... or a bowl of cereal with a banana cut into it.
I've been eating this for so long and never had this problem.

I went with no sugars for 6 monthes and didn't have this issue, have just been getting this recently and realized that i need sugar or im dead for the day.

A powerade or gatorade ALWAYS helps me. When i feel tired and sleepy, it helps me stay awake when coffee doesn't.

well the toast don't help, anything with simple and starchy carbs don't help.

The body will change over time :)

stick with veges and you will be OK.

Every morning...I have 2-3 bowls of oatmeal and about 2 tbsp honey...glass of milk and I'm out the door.
