Is it possible to reach 220 pounds, naturally?

Out of sheer curiosity,

Is it possible through years of hard work to reach muscular 220 pounds NATURALLY? And have low bodyfat?

Or is it beyond all dreams for 5'8 mesomorph?


Reply please! I just want to know if it is a good long term goal to strive for. (I weight about 180 pounds now)
 
MOST DEFINATELY,IF YOU STAY FOCUSED TRAIN HARD AND STAY ON A GOOD DIET. YOUR GENETIC POTENTIAL THOUGH WILL ONLY TAKE YOU SO FAR. 40 POUNDS OF SHEER MUSCLE, I CAN'T ANSWER HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE YOU...

A lot depends on you. There's no doubt you could reach 220 pounds, but when people say it's not maintainable they mean that their strength begins to plateau, they can't drop bodyfat without losing lots of muscle, and they can't gain anymore without putting on lots of fat.

What are the other folks in your family like? My grandfather on my mother's side was a HUGE man when he was younger; around 6'4", 260 pounds, and had very little fat. (Good german stock, no juice in him). Problem is, by father's side of the family is a lot more endomorphic; my dad's father is also a big man, but not what you could call "ripped" by any means. I'd guess my potential would lie around 220-230 at my height.... But like I said, there's no way of knowing for sure until you get there.

Just do the work man. Don't question whether or not it is possible. What if someone on this board says it's not possible...then what??! Do you give up on what you want...I hope not.

My family is full of extremes. My momthers borther is extreme Ectomorph. My mother is extreme endomorph. My father is Mesomorph 6'
tall. His muscles are pretty big considering all he eats is fast food and no breakfast.

So I am mesomorph. I am not ecto nor endo.
By personality I am 6.9/7 meso 4/7 ecto 3/7 endo.


My father is 187 pounds, pretty lean.

why the hell anybody that is 5' 8" would wont to weigh 220 is beyond me. 170 to 180 and soid muscle is the way to go. at 220 your going to be one fat ass and not cut.

I mean muscular 220 at little bodyfat. That ain't fat.
Lee priest is like 5'4' and he weights around
240-260 pounds.

I saw Priest guest pose at a local show here 2 weeks ago. He was way out of contest shape. His glutes and legs look very dumpy, soft, and thick in the offseason. He looks great in the magazines cuz he's always been cutting but he looks pretty weird when he gets up around 260 lbs. Personally I wouldn't want to look like that.

Possible: Damn right it is
Probable: Depends on genetics, diet, lifting, ect.
Desirable: Not for me and my goals, but if thats what you want go for it.


I'm about 5'9" and am looking to only hit 5"10-6'0" if I'm lucky and personally want to hit 190-200 even at 7-8% body fat.

5'7"-5'8" 220@8% is just borderlining big, not in any way fat LOL. maybe your on the wrong board cause most here would like to be HUGE.
