It is all about in/out.

Isolation exercises, such as most abdominal work, burn very very very few calories. They will make the muscle "harder", but do very little to burn calories.

Steady State Cardio will burn more calories at the time of the workout, but little afterburn.

HIIT will burn serious calories during the workout, but you get the benefit of afterburn, as with weightraining.

A good fat burning routine will combine all three things - assuming, of course, diet is already 100% clean.

cardio doesn't burn fat in a specific area. It just burns fat that is available. You and most men just happen to store in the ab region first. First on last off. Like Pincota said, you might have to go below 10% maybe down as low as 5 or 6%. Then I would bet you would be free of the "tire" Increase cardio and keep diet spot on. Couldn't hurt to drink more water either maybe up it to 1and1/2 gallons a day. If your down to 10% and stuck you may want to start cycling your carbs as well.

Hmmmmm ...... that is a very good point! Carb Cycling might be a good option right now. Good call.

yep, just started carb cycling, ala CKD, but im still planning keep my 45+g carb PWO (dextrose, maltodextrin), so last week i did like ~70g day, w/a big Sunday carb fest (mmmm pasta ;) )

but we'll find out soon enough.... im quiting smoking,... im not a heavy smoker, 've only been smoking for year. yea stupid i know...
but i will give up whatever to accomplish my goals :D

lypo its the only way for some people! that last bit of fat may just as well be IMPOSSIBLE to burn. If you have the $$$, get it done, plus if this IS your problem area lypo will remove the entire fat cells, so that even when you store fat again, it wont be as bad in that area. just my .02

Are you saying it's impossible to get to 4% then too. If he get's down to 4% I bet his fat is gone, therefore it's always possible to burn subcutaneous fat. Is it difficult? Hell yes it is.
Is lipo an easy, expensive answer? You bet.

fuck yea, if i had money... i would get the INCH removed! lol

but regardless... i would feel a million times better knowing all the hard work it took to get the 6pack, and that i achieved it... the right way, not the pussy way out! :spin: :destroy:
