Went to Michael's (arts & crafts) after hitting Don Pablo's (Mexican place) to look at crafts & ended up buying all these fall decorations.....

Now I'm wondering what to do with them! LOL

What kind of stuff did you get? I can probably give you some ideas, Im very into artsy craftsy things.

I got 4 foam pumpkins.....lots of dried flowers, and a few clearance things -- like ribbon, air fresheners, etc for Xmas crafts.... Oh and got a bunch of stuff at the Dollar store today too for Xmas.....

Here's what I made:

I'm now trying to think of ideas for Xmas gifts for my step-daughter's mom & step-dad --> I usually do some type of basket -- so I'm thinking of apple pie this year -- picking apples, making apple pie mix & canning it.....

Those look really great, kudos to your flower arranging skills. I used to make papier mache stuff for my friends & relatives at Christmas, probably wont get time this yer though.

Autumn always makes me think of my Gran's blackberry and apple pies and bakes, a gorgeous bake with cornflakes on top. Blackberries are great with apples.

How do you tin your pies though? Do you have some kind of machine?

I do salsa every year as well, so I may try the pie filling this year....Blackberry/Apple sounds yummy!!

But it would be the old fashioned way in glass jars with vacuum seal lids, processed in a boiling water bath....

salsa and home decor, there's no limits to your abilities!

you know what i would be very interested in, if i were a potential customer, those lovely gift baskets full of condiments, say fudge, and jams, pie fillings, and stuff.

of course you'd have to make these lol, and build up a reputation, but if your salsa is anything to go by, you have it made ;D

LOL......I'm going to Micheal's right now. Too pricey, there's nothing I cant get online for less, but if you want in a hurry that's the place to go.

The Michael's I go to has an awesome clearance section so I get a ton of stuff there -- from fake flowers to air-fresheners, etc.....

Also, all the flowers I got were on sale.....I can't imagine how much it would've been regular price!! Whew....

RE: gift basket wise - that's what I was thinking, like a theme. So, for a "Mexican Fiesta" or salsa basket would be some fancy tortilla chips, my homemade salsa, maybe some chili pepper lights, etc

An "All American" basket would be homemade apple pie filling, the makings for pie crust, a pie tin, maybe candles, etc....

Cool!!! Glad to have some feedback!! Thanks!!

The best place I find for craft stuff is the Dollar Store...I go there all the time with my kids to get fun things to do.....
