I never feel my back working, when doing deads anybody got....?

Was that impressive? Keep in mind, I don't do full deadlifts... I only do partials. About knee height upwards.

I think anything over 300lbs for more than 15 reps is impressive.

I'm talking about your statement regarding the fact that deadlifts are over-rated. That's just nuts :)

Not at all... for growth, I think you can benefit from deads... however, lower back growth - I don't want. I want thickness and tightness and a small waist. I have had on problems putting on quality size with hypers, and reverse crunches...

I think deads give you a fat ass.

Move your grip out wider... it will hit your lats more than your lower back. My ass is like a big bubble... it isn't wide... I have small hips (sprinter hips)... so my ass will just grow backward, not from side to side.

I keep my grip out wider... it seems to blast my lats and upper back more than my lower back... but my lower back is STILL hit... just not concentrated.

Can you post a pic of your ass? Sounds like ghetto booty.

I have pictures of my ass... it is not a ghetto booty... lol ... but I'd say it is a bubble butt... kind of like a sprinters ass...

Deadlifts are DEFINITELY a core exercise. Think about it, you're whole body has to work to move the weight. If you're not feeling it in your lower back, it could be form. Remember to keep your back straight, and don't move your ass backwards like I see so many people do when lowering the weight. When you lowever the weight, bend your knees slightly but keep yourself in a straight vertical line, don't sway.

I think some people say "DEADLIFT" when they mean to say "ROMANIAN DEADLIFT." There is no "lowering" a deadlift. It's concentric.

I might have to make this a soap box sticky too...
