hey!! yea i never feel my back being worked when i do deadlifts...mabey im doing it wrong..if so does anyone have any pointers or tips of how to make a deadlift most effective??? or even a video or sumpin...thnx

Maybe it's your body structure. I have pretty long arms, so I never feel it in my legs, but I always feel it in my lower back and lats.

which part of ur back? lower, middle, or lats?

i feel it in my lower, middle, and hams the most.. but the next day
my traps and lats are sore as hell. so i dunno..

What kind of weight are you pulling?

I used to not feel a thing untill I started loading on the weight and did sets of 5-6 reps max.

How long have you been doing them? I didn't really "feel" them in my back until I'd done them for some time and got good form down.

Dead lifts are NOT the ideal choice of excersises for back to begin with. Barbell rows or Dbl rows are more direct movements to target that area. I think deads are overrated. I have been training for 15 years and the only time I did deads were the first 2.

Blastphmy!!!!

Deads are core lift... but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

BTW... I think sunlight is overrated for plant growth. :)

When I do deads, I stay with 315 for 15-20 reps. I too think they are overrated.

Of course, back being my best bodypart... what can you take from my advice? I got my sick V taper from all the years of swimming I did. Swim training was mostly pullups.

But when it came time to add thickness, I got my best results from modified cleans (lowering the bar only to mid thigh, bent over rows and seated cable rows
