I am seeking for motivating words,,, and sugestions.

Showing concern for someones weight can be a very touchy subject. I always cringe when there is a guy on a talk show saying his wife needs to lose weight. You always here the lady saying that it hurts her when he says anything about her weight, even though the problem is obvious.

I have tried helping my mother with diet and exercise. The only nice way to put it is that I want her around when I have her grandbabies. If I were you, I would use the health concern approach. Explain to her that you love her no matter what she looks like, for sickness and in health. You don't want it to be her health that keeps you from spending a beatuful life togather.

I agree with what Sassy said about the Body for Life book. My friend's aunt and uncle were on it and loved it. It puts everything in perspective and lays it out in a simple approach. Once you get into the swing of things it becomes second nature. It definately makes it easy for long term sucess. Both of them had lost over 60 lbs on the plan. I read through the book to get an idea of what it was about. Philips does a good job of motivating people. It felt cool being able to talk to people that had gotten bit by the fitness bug. The last I had seen them they looked great and would never thought they could have done it. Their personalties had changed they were much happier and in a good mood in general.

I wish you the best of luck, I hope you find the balance of being concerned and being shallow.

redman any updates? I'm curious

My girlfriend has lost about five pounds and has kept it off for a little while. She plans on continuing to better herself and is going to the gym more.

The problem is that i still run circles around her.... i am way more active and in comparison and by my standerds she is still a little lazy.

I guess as long as she continues to improve one step at a time it will all work out in the long run.

BUST YOUR ASS in the GYM, so u get attention from the GYM hotties lol then she'll snap into it. =]

but hoenstly, if u make this your way of life and you are really into it, let her know that your in this for life. Hopefully she gets the point soon.

MY GF started with me, but half assed it, She seen all the attention i get from the ladies/wives/etc so she pushes herself for my attention ( now, if she only knew i could care less about the other women, i guarentee she would slow down her gym usage. ) Get her into the swing for 3-4 weeks. Then her psyke will WANT to go to the GYM.
