how many times can u bench 225??

I tried to see how many times I could rep 225 and I got 21. If someone told me to video tape it to prove it I would tell them to fuck off.

I'VE DONE IT 15 TIMES WITH NO PROBLEM. PROBABLY COULD HAVE GOTTEN 5-6 MORE. THAT WAS A WHILE BACK THOUGH. I DONT EVEN DO FLAT BENCH ANYMORE. THREW IT OUT OF MY ROUTINE COMPLETELY.

I'm about 5'10 and 195 and my max is about 400. I think thats pretty damn good. Duritz good for you I know how much work it takes to get there without a gram of test a week. Props.

thanks dude, espcially since i have such long arms. it's tough.

Huh? Sounds like I rep 600? If only.

I top out around 440 at the moment........but I consider that to be far from what I can achieve. That is 440 paused with even lockout yadda yadda yadda.

Let me point something out for you........400 is not immense in the raw and natural powerlifting world. It is a good lift......I would be stupid to deny that.......but it is far from immense. You can go to regional powerliftig meets and people blow up that weight like it is nothing.

dude i am not a powerlifter. I stay lean and in shape. yeah anyone can blow up to 260 and bench almost 500, but i choose to stay lean. Anything over 315 i think is commendable. I'd consider that strong and in good shape.

Post the 30 reps and end all.

You said it, I called it out. Walk the walk. If you insult Polish people, and you did, I take it personal. Frankly, I think your full of shit.

this sounds like a modern day scene from the Pianist. :) btw i'm 25% polish.

Who has to 'blow up to 260' to get 500? Plenty of lighter weight guys around doing that weight.

I think that you are right that 315 is commendable. I just took issue about what 'immense' meant :) 400 at your bodyweight is a good lift.......no doubts here.

how do I know you can hit 27 reps?

He can. . if you would visit the training board every once in a while you will see that Polish can rep with 300lbs on the incline press. . .he has posted videos.

Some of you people crack me up. . many of you are claiming bigger bench presses than big Tommy Harris of Oklahoma who can hit 225lbs for 25 reps. For you people who are claiming you can press 400lbs at 195lbs - 205lbs. . . post up some proof, else prove it in a powerlifting meet.

Any fool can get on here and say. . . .yah. . . I can press 225lbs for 30 reps, but I can't anymore because I got injured.

Give me a fucking break.

I suppose the rest of you fucks are making 85K per year, have a graduate degree, and have fucked 100 women.

Please stop the lying.

Your stuck on that double bodyweight thing huh........

Double bodyweght is good (that is why I sai 400 at YOR bodyweight)........but to be impressive you need minimum 2.5 x bodyweight IMO.

Can I assme that you arent stupid enogh to be insinuating that powerlifters are fat (not lean) and out of shape?

If that is what you are saying, how do you expain the fact that my pulse rate at rest is around 32bpm and I pop 5 minute miles out all day long? BTW I know 5min miles arent that fast........but they are far from out of shape. Oh and you need to see a real powerlifting meet if you think powerlifters are fat.........

believe me dude.. i am below what is required for powerlifting. No one powerlifts at 7% BF. I was up to about 17% and it felt good and i was strong as hell. I wasn't fat, but fatter than now. That is what i am saying dude. Never said they were fat, but strict diets isn't in their regimen like it is in mine.

Havnent ever tryed this so I jus blew a cuple rails and hit 53 reps without breakin swaets (manger was spottin so ask him if u dont bleev me).
But hen my cel started ringin so i stopt [thot it might be Carrie lookin for Gunz to tap that ass like a jockee in a donkee race).

I'm thinkin i could hit mayb 70 or 80 reps.

wow, you really are sizzler

My old training partner was a 198 lifter at 6'2". He was under 7%.......and he deadlifted 723. It isnt exactly the norm but it happens. I would be more inclined to call 10% or less lean......but that I'm not a bikini boy :) so I probably have different standards.

Oh and many top powerlifters do watch that diet closely........they just arent anal about it.

Who is big Tommy Harris?

Do you think the number of reps these peope are quoting actualy reflets their 1 rep max? I dont think it will even be close to a true measure. You are dealing with stamina not absolute strength.

Oh and I agree about your general opinion of some of the posts on this thread........

Indeed this is stamina training.

Its funny none of these dudes ever post on the training board.

Guys on the training board are always posting videos and photos of personal records.

Too many chicken shits around here claiming big numbers and high reps, but there is no proof. . .where is the evidence?

Do these people expect me to believe some asshole sitting behind a computer?

here's an idea, maybe they don't give a fuck about you or what you believe, and they were just responding to a post.

Any chance you have video of this 723 deadlift? That's absolutely astounding!!! I am sure I can learn a great deal by watching it. I am sure there are a few more athletes who would like to watch it as well. Any chance you can make it happen Imnotdutch?

He nailed that 723 in the BAWLA Powerlifting championships in 96 (I think). BAWLA is the top british powerlifting fed. He is in the records online (name: Clive Smith) but there arent any vids.

Fro watching him lift I remember that he lited conventional and used a lot of back. It was almost a stiff-legged deadlift. I'll email him (I moved away fromt he area) to see if he has any pics or videos of good lifts.
