How do you react when your 9 yr old proclaims "I know what a boner is"

yeah we havent had the masturbation talk but he also knows what it is because he heard a reference to it on tv and started being all "ewwww. did you hear that mom. he said masturbation" but i neglected to get into a conversation about it lolloll.
he understands pregnancy but we havent had the sex talk or even discussed the basic act. i want to wait until he is older.

TV has defnitely accelerated the maturation of our kids. I never thought I'd have that talk at 9 but they were ready for it though I'm sure the testicles are not fully functional yet. I covered it in broad terms so they understand procreation not sex. Very different! We've left sex as something for a later time but the dialog is open. My wife and I believe in open communications with the kids. We encourage them to come to us about anything and we try not to be judgemental or to laugh at them so they keep coming to us.
