GJ's GO hard or GO home 5x5 log

I'd do Blood n' Guts for at least 6 weeks.. but I think it would be a better comparison of how it works for ya to do at least 8 weeks.

I seriously have to take a nap or go to bed 2 hours earlier than usual with that routine.. it zaps me hard and I love it.

I ate so much junk today, I better hop my ass in the treadmill tomorrow lol. Then Monday its back to a shitload of CLEAN calories and dy blood and guts :evil:. Will be cruising on 200mg test for the next 4 weeks by the way

yeah i'm not even really dieting right now anyways, just eating a ton of clean food. I'm not to concerned about fat as much as I am the scale going up. I can run a ten week cycle when i'm done bulking and get shredded it doesn't take as long to lose fat compared to building a solid foundation. So that's were my head is at right now....size and strength

Whole workout not counting cardio took probably not even 1/2 hour. Was just standing there like I didn't know what to do with myself. Got a good pump off it tho, it was pretty intense while it lasted with the 1min rest lol. As much as I want to I'm not gonna add anything to it, I'm just gonna focus on form....I havnt done db work in so long it was awkard as Hell lol. I'm gonna add a.m. fasted cardio on sun. And Mon. Just because chest day isn't too crazy and this should keep fat in check. I'll probably go low carb on sun. Too and 4k clean calories mon thru sat. Just a little experiment

Yeah I may add a little idk. Back and leg days look intense but chest/bicep day is kinda weak. I may just add some dips in and more working sets on biceps

Yeah I think ill Like it....key here is the short rest and form. I think if its done properly then its a solid routine but if its not followed to a t would be a waste of time. I think another key is not to treat the first set as too much of a "Wu" and more of a working set just not till failure, then balls to the wall wanna puke on the working set lol. I've already learned this from one workout.

Junkeeee... I added a few sets when i did the program but the trick is to have a spotter and go real heavy on the working sets.... How's the weight from the cycle ? How many lbs have you drop if any ?

havn't been on the scale, i'll weigh in on mon. I know my weight probably hasn't gone down just from all the junk i've been eating lately lol. I should be good tho caue the test and eq are still lingering around, my last pin wasn't even a week ago. Honestly I dont think I'll even be off cycle long enough to lose any weight lol.

I think I like this workout, get in hit it hard and get out. My chest is actually pretty shoe from yesterday. It's a nice change from the 5x5 to shock the muscles and should be a good transition workout from the 5x5 into radar's high volum routine.
 
kc17 is totally right. The key just like DY says is to go to ultimate failure.. not mental failure, but physical. Having a spotter to really push you or get those last few neg reps in makes this what it is. I'm with you GJ. I get done in 30-45 mins and feel like I didn't do anything, but then the next two days oh man I'm feeling it. The only thing I do differently on a couple of the workouts (generally the last one or two) is I'll drop the weight to 60% of what my last set was (on a failure) and work it til I'm grunting from the burn with only a 30 second rest from the last set. Kind of like DC training. The pump is insane.

Was supposed to rest today but I won't have time train this weekend so I'm banging it out in 4 days this week. I'm going past failure on everything I can, 3/4 reps, 1/2 reps whatever i can. What i'm logging is full reps. I need to start bringing my journalt again cause I can't remember all the weight and reps by the time I log it. This workout doesn't seem like much bit it's spiking my apetite like crazy and making me sore as hell so I'm not adding anything to it. Jumped on the scale today and i've gained another 3lbs, sitting at 198lbs right now.....all the christmas cookies may have something to do with that lol. But I feel like i'm still gaining though, if I can clear 200 before my next cycle 2 15-220 isn't out of the question :evil:, I'm gonna be a fat fuck tho lmao....even if I hit 215 and cut down to 195 thats good money
 
Upright on cg pull down. Slight bend on the db pullover and they aren't rack pulls cause there is no rack :) lol...and I'm really feeling it, sore as shit from these workouts

So you are still holding the full weight at the bottom on your DL? Like in a hang position?

Leg extensions suck rocks bro. If you can alternate lunges. Much better for your knees and quads overall.
That Hack Squat too bro, be kind to your bod and do regular back squats. That machine gonna huirt your knees bro. It makes your bod adapt to it and thats bad news.

honestly they don't bother me at all, i'm gonna stick with the routine the way he has it lined out..It's been squat city for the past four months so a change is nice

My first couple years of training before I heard of this, o always had these in my leg routine and never had any issues at all bro. And the way I'm looking at it now is I'm only really doing one working set with em for a limited amount if time. But I will def watch for any discomfort and drop em ASAP if I notice anything.

It was great spent the day with family not to many things better than that. I had the same problem with the diet my girl makes bomb ass candied sweet potatoes..lol we'll get back on track today:evil:
