Getting sick with protein

Lately i've been having protein blends of milk egg and whey protein and i've noticed i get very sick, bloated, with bad gas and diarhea. I thnk it's the protein and not sure what is causing it, apart from the milk and egg, this protein powder also has Xanthan gum and another thickening agent, Im not sure if it could be that because my straight whey powder doesnt have this.

any ideas what it could be/
It's got me so sick it's putting me off taking whey powder now

I'm in the same boat. I bought some over the counter pills called "Dairy Aid" (lactase enzyme) and crushed one of them into my protien shake. Tomorrow I'll try two pills, then three...if it's not working then, I suppose I'll have to figure out an alternative.

probally gotta look into isopure or something thats lactose free.

isopure isnt cheap at all either. i would look into protienfactory.com maybe they have a lactose free protien. or put a thread up in the supplements forum.

YOu can get whey isolates as well as lactose free blends at www.protienfactory.com BA. And they are ALOT cheaper than isopure, which is nothing more than ion exchange whey isolate with a multi-vitamin thrown in. If you are lactose intolerant, there is a good chance your protien is the cause of the bloating.

I never use anything but whey isolate. Anything else is very unpleasant. I use Isopure, but that is just for convenience and taste. I never get any bloat or discomfort from it, compared to major bloating, gas and discomfort with whey concentrate. Whey concentrate is self-hatred.
