drop sets blow me up!

anyone else do drop or strip sets. no other routine comes close to such a pump.

it would seem like doing drop sets for everything is the perfect bodybuilding routine. it has basically zero focus on strength but 100 percent focus on pump.

i think the pump is the best way to maximize muscle cell volume because your muscles feel like they are going to pop!

I love drop sets, too, and I certainly love the pump :) I do not do them at present but they're a LOT of fun...

However, I do not think a good bodybuilding routine can be had without significant focus on strength. You can, after all, achieve a HUGE pump by doing hundreds of push-ups or, more telling, just by posing hard. I know my arms get pumped when I hold a hard front double biceps pose for awhile.

I used to do a thing we called "michigan warmdowns" after every workout back when I was MUCH younger. Basically dropsets from your heaviest weight all the way down... Yeah I got hellah pumped, but I wasn't gaining size or strenghts in leaps and bounds either....

I don't think they will do you much good in the long run, try reading some of the training threads in the stickys in the training forum... I think there are routines which people have found to be much more effective now...

Not a flame, just trying to help..

I agree with you B.

That's not to say drop sets can't be effective, of course...Trevor Smith swears by them, and he's a fucking monster! He may well be one of the biggest and strongest bodybuilders ever to live.

Of course, he also does very low volume and he might not recommend that non-enhanced athletes train as he does.

Still, I'm a little leery of doing many drop sets...they're a lot of fun, very painful and produce a tremendous pump, but they do tend to overtrain me. And as I said, the pump itself is pretty much indicative of nothing...plenty of guys never get big pumps yet they themselves ARE huge.

i just prefer to go for the pump like good ol arnold

everyone responds to differntly this is just another way of training i dont see to many people post about,

but the funny thing is i see alot of people do drop sets

much more blood is driven into the muscle also more nutrients when training this way. this type of training will give alot more capilary development aswell.

i feel alot better when my muscles are bursting with a pump especially if i eat alot of carbs also.
