Do you powerlifters find pretty boy bodybuilders annoying?

ZZuluZ I got tired of eating steak the past 2 weeks for dinner, I can't stand tuna(unless it's a girl's :p ) and I really hate eggs. And peanut butter I eat for lunch at school and I have a 5-day weekend so no peanut butter for me until monday, and i eat natural peanut butter it's healthy. I was just saying all that food to try and put weight on me, but it doesn't work although it sure tastes good.
Brain ok I guess I misunderstood you. I was bout to say man with as hard as I train and try to get my technique in before I start going for higher weights, all i do is try to perfect myself and come on here and post about it then compete in HS meets right now until Sat... ur gonna tell me I'm not a powerlifter. but thanks appreciate the backup.

I always encourage everyone to set a goal and compete in something. I probably would not train my events at all if I did not have a contest to train for. It is amazing what a contest will do for you. If you are training with a date and a contest in mind...then sure...you are a powerlifter.

If you are having problems gaining weight...your diet is the first thing that you need to look at. You are not eating what you need to be eating in order to gain weight. No where near!!!

You can...if you try...AND you force feed when possible.

Cubanito, I eat nearly twice as many calories per day as ypu do just to keep my weight up. Not even trying to gain or maintain, I still eat a lot more than you are eating. Eat more cheeseburgers!

OK How can you guys eat sooo much??? I mean with my friends and family they say I'ma pig and that's all I eat so I wonder what they'd think of you BRAIN. Well I guess I'ma start taking in more hamburgers, Dont like cheeseburgers, and who knows what else I'll eat. Just had 20 wings, french fries, and a huge chunk of pie this morning for breakfast. Lets see what else I can eat today:D

I dislike people who call themselves powerlifters yet do not compete. There are quite a few things that are different.

1. You need to get the lifts in on a specific day, not just when "the stars are right." Part of being a powerlifting is peaking for a competition.
2. You will often have to struggle to maintain or increase strength while cutting to make weight.
3. You are lifting in an unfamiliar environment. It is usually either far to hot or far to cold. And let's not even get into lifting overseas.
4. You have to lift when you are told, not when you are ready. Nothing sucks like following yourself after you just hit a gut-busting pr. At times like these, you would kill someone for five extra minutes.
5. Travel. This often affects a lifter's ability to perform. Part of being a powerlifting is dealing with all of the above.

I have not competed in the last eight years. I simply refer to myself as a coach.

Cubanitio,

You can take tuna still in the can with you to school. A manual can opener, and you are pretty much all set. You could conceivably keep a jar of peanut butter in your locker, as well as protein bars, which are easy to cram down in-between classes. I often wind up doing this. Prepare in advance, and eat more protein.

Cubanitio???? MY name now has gone from my cuban side of me and you threw in some italian for me, thanks. :D . Ok well the thing is I HATE TUNA. PB i have to eat it with bread I've tried eating it alone it's horrible, or with oreos that's good too. About protein bars remember back 2 weeks ago when I wanted to maintain weight for the life of me. I am sooooo tired of eating protein bars, shakes, and all that other shit. In fact I have boxes of them in the cabinets in my kitchen I'm just sick of eating them. Don't get me wrong they taste good but it's just after a while the taste really gets to you and you can taste the powdered protein, uuughhhh just thinking about it i can taste it already, nasty.

After a couple more months of me screwing up your name, you will not know where you are from either.

Guess what? I hate tuna as well. But it is a good source of protein, easy to fix, and easy to transport. So I eat it. Like it or not.

My simple advice to you since you are on a mission to get bigger and stronger is just to look at food (at least while you are in school) as a fuel source. You have plenty of time to eat what you want at night, and you can take the time to fix a decent breakfast (an omlette and potates takes less than 15 minutes, and even less if you chop everything up the night before).

If you have a way to access a refrigerator, milk is a traditional supplement. It worked for Paul Anderson.
