Dirty~D~'s journey to recovery - first 90 days

To give you a little info about me: I come from a powerlifter background and for the last two years I have been battling the horrible physical destruction brought on by Celiac Disease. I was finally, CORRECTLY, diagnosed in September of 2007. So why has it taken this long to return to my passion? Detoxing a poisoned body takes time if you're going to do it right. I wanted to make sure that when I decided to make my comeback that I would be more than capable of meeting the standard that I have set for myself. If any of you ever have any questions regarding anything I put up here, PLEASE don't hold back. I LOVE questions; I love teaching and I love it when people help me teach myself. :)

On to the good stuff...

After my first week back to the gym full time I've been able to determine what is a reasonable first goal:

Put on 15lbs of pure muscle in three months. My current stats are 122lbs and 17.2% bf. The bf will maintain itself, for the most part. As a mesomorph with some ectomorphic traits it should come along just fine. Three rules to follow: eat big, sleep big, lift big.

The good news is my strength isn't AS gone as I was worried it would be. Legs are going to need a little extra attention for the first month, but the back is still strong. Deads feel great! The only problem is my arms can't keep up with the weight that I know the rest of me can move.... My name is dirty~d~ and I'm a deadliftoholic. :)

I won't be doing too many small lifts unless I need some filler to keep the stabilizers working. It's going to be pretty simple: deads, bench, squats, power cleans.

My appetite has rebounded 200% in just one week... GREAT sign! No need to force feed myself anymore. The hard part is going to be keeping enough food in the house. :worried:

Diet (thanks to the celiac disease) is going to be ALL whole foods: turkey, chicken, fish, pork, beef, eggs; quinoa, brown rice; raw veggies; fresh fruit; nuts; very little dairy; water, water, water. No alcohol, no desserts. Sups will be simple: Whey protein isolate shake for PWO and as part of one of my early morning meals.

I will be updating every week for the next 90 days... stay tuned for another episode of The Creation of the DD Monster.

KILL THAT SHIT! ;)

THANKS, hot stuff. :qt:

The first 90 days is going to be all about putting my weight back on. The strength will come back quickly so I'm not too concerned with it, for now.

Long term goal (one yearish) is to be competition ready. It'll depend on how well I respond to the demands I'm going to inflict on myself for the next year, but I know my body well enough to know that it's reasonable. Goals are what keep us going.

:)

Good to see this D, I'm so glad you have things going the right way for now let's hope it keeps that way. Plus you know there's not much sexier than a hot woman deadlifting!!!! :p

Cheers,
Scotsman
