Hello people!
what in your opinion is the best style for mass? Deadlifting powerlifter style (lower the weight until it touches the floor) or
bodybuilder style (don't let the bar touch the floor until set is done).

any ideas?

reply please!

I prefer to touch the floor, but the entire movement should be very controlled. Avoid concentrating on just moving a ton of weight. Concentrate on moving it correctly which will ultimately decrease the amount of weight you can use (at least for me).

I would touch the floor regardless of your training style...form gets sloppy if not.

Bodybuilding is about range of motion, you lose some if you don't go to the floor, plus when you start getting really heavy on your deads trying to stop before the floor is asking for injury

I drop the bar after each rep to avoid leaning over when setting it down. Then reset my grip and pull again. This also prevents you from losing grip on the bar from holding on too long. Unless doing rack deads then I don't let go of the bar.

Regular deads I do em from the floor for each rep. If you don't hit the floor you are putting your back at serious risk especially with heavy weight.

SL Deads I don't touch the floor however but I don't go too heavy to keep total contraction on the hams and less on my back.

I'm not sure it makes a difference...

But, if you ask me, "deadlift" means just that....lifting dead weight. It ain't dead weight if you're not taking it from the floor.
