Deadlifts - I gotta be doing them wrong?

Since hes not posting any raw numbers i will assume he squats about #150, which if hes new to lifting is pretty normal. that would put him around the #450 mark for those deads he is describing. When I first started this is where I was. I also learned the hardway at close to #500 that i had poor form. I was lifting a hell o lot of weight with my lower back and it sounds like he is doing the same.

A fix to this is to lower the weight way down to #200 and practice form form form. Then go up from there. my $.02

Um, I think he's doing them sumo... "I put my feet just to where the weight won't crush them when I put it back down." Where else could the weight possibly crush his feet other than where the plates are. That would kind of help to explain him being able to do 3 times his squat as just starting out?

I think he's joking. I think he's making fun of people who do this, but hell maybe he's just goofy and wants to shoot a lumbar through the ceiling.

sounds like he is doing sumo's to me. Try placing your feet with shoulder widt, and your arms on the OUTSIDE of your knees, not inside them.
