Damned squats are killing me.

QUIT being a pussy and just lift , sacrifice some weight but never sacrifice the form , a true BB will be much more impressed with a good light squat that a bullshit half ass pussy squat with to much weight

quit wining and take your medicine

Anybody bother to think that he might go ass to the floor and halfway would be parrlel?
If this is the case then yes all you need is parellel. It's all I do I find anything lower really targets my ASS and not my quads. You want a fat ass go atf if not stick to paralel.

Squats are KING of leg building...

I will attempt to give the long and short version of leg training here.
If you want real mass and size on those legs of yours... if you want to develop mammoth tree trunks that cause onlookers to gaze in wide mouth amazement, then my friend.... don't shy away from the squats... they are KING in leg building. If you speak to any seasoned bodybuilder in the sport, they will invariably say that squats do the thing that no other exercise can.
When going down into the bottom position there are a couple of things that you should not do. First, descend all the way until you butt touchs your heels. Second, don't bounce when you are that far down, regardless if you use wraps or not, you will destroy your knees.
The preferred method of squatting is descending only to the point of only just below parallel.
Having said that there is another exercise that will be of benefit to you if you don't like this... the 1/2 squat... you perform it exactly the same manner but it allows you to use much more weight. Remember, follow strict form always... yields much greater results.

I was told that squats releases gh naturally through your body, and that your upper body automatically grows when you squat.

My dilemma is this - I sprained my ankle 2 months ago, and still have limited movement, so trying to squat amount of weight is outta tha question.

So is deadlifts.

I was told that you can do squats at low weight, high reps, to get a similar release of gh.

Anyone know?

I find going deep on every rep is the only way to get my hams to grow really good! not even curls do that for me!

I also agree with the 90% that said going real heavy and squating a few inch's looks real fuckin stupid...I rather lighten it up and set my ass on the floor.

Thanks guys.

I found that using less weight and doing 8-12 reps instead of 5-8 made it easier to take on. For me squats are 3 times harder than any other exercise. But I know they are the best exercise so I gut it out.

AYE BRO DON'T SLACK ON YOUR SQUATS...IT IS THE KING FOR PUTTING ON MORE MASS FOR YOUR ENTIRE BODY. ALWAYS USE THE BEST FORM.....NO MATTER WHAT.!! BODYBUILDING, NOT EGO BUILDING

If your aiming for the quads then go parallel with a slight heal raise. If your going for the hams and ass then go all the way down and keep your heals to the floor.

I fucking hate squating too.But like someone else said,I guess I love to hate it.I love the way I have to be so psyched to push myself through the pain of the session and I dig the feeling of accomplishment I get as I leave the gym a better man.
Simply, squat properly and you will grow, legs without squats is like trying to train chest without doing bench press
