FlexBailey,
I only get my sodium from egg whites, chicken and tuna. Meaning I salt nothing. I use no extra seasoning.
Of these 3 protein sources what one will carry the most sodium?
I have 16 egg whites a day and 4 cans of tuna. The tuna is always strained in cold water. Do you think I should cut tuna out all together come Wed. before my show and only go with chicken?

Thanks for your advise. this thread will help me big time with my first carb deplete and carb load.
I have been in 10 shows in the past 1 1/2 years and have not placed below 4th place yet. Many 1st and 2nd placing. So my
past methods have worked. I just want to try something else to see if my muscle bellies will look fuller then ever.

Thanks again,

I had always knocked tuna out way before but that is just me. Tuna has tons of sodium so get rid of that definitley first and replace with chicken breasts. The egg white should be dropped as well in the days before the show.
Basically the last 3 days you should only be eating chicken for your protein.
Wow, you've done alot of show, good job, great experience.

i agree with flex, no tuna in the last week.Though i tried it once while i was depleting, then switched to only turkey-proteïn when carbing up.Results were ok also...I don't think there is much difference in eating tuna or not while depleting carbs, the 3-4 last days are the most important to leave the sodium out. There is a theory about sodium loading for three days first and then leave it out 3-4 day to the contest...You should try for yourself.Good luck!

I agree and like the ideas of Flex and Doc. I too cut out all tuna and then cut the eggs out, too much sodium. I feel a rule of thumb would also be how many days you deplete is how many days your body needs to fill out. Believe me I have fucked up before. Other than that its all personal preference. Its hard to tell you what to take in with out seeing you. I know you just want some ideas and I think the ones shared are excellent.

Fucked up Gullie??Gee man i know what you mean. The first time i depleted i was flat as a pancake on the contest. The day after, fully carbed up and hard as a rock...Shit happens huh..:D

I myself have done many show both local and nationally and have placed in the top 3 in every show but 1 took fourth there I follow the same carb up as animal I compete at 235# last show but I dont eat carb off season i follow the body opus diet and have been for many years now and it works great for me my first show 6 yrs ago i walked on stage 187# 3% the following year 205# and have made great gain ever year this spring i should walk on stage at the muscle mainia show in Ct around 245# 3% im 260# or so now at 8.5% so im on my way good luck to you bro\

Lifes to short to be small

Here's something interesting though..I left my whey shakes in up until the day before the show. I used about 4 scoops a day and it didn't seem to hurt me If you guys wanna check what I looked like for that show check out my post in 'mens pic' forum.

Hey Lthrnk,
I've got you beat only in the age area. I'll be 40 Oct. 8th.
Everyone keeps asking me when are you only going to just do master? I have been double dipping in the 35 to 40 and mens open this year. Doing very well in both. I like the master because they have had no weight class. I'm up on stage next to a 220 pound guy. I'm 174 hard and shredded. I just tell the young guys that i will stay in the masters once they can start beating me or if my placing drop below 5th.
I started competing May of 2000. Been hooked ever since.

Thanks for your input.
