Hmmm. Today's consecutive workout beat yesterday's, which is impressive. Got 335 on the Power Clean (PR). Today was on regular plates (in the fitness center), though, so some of the mental aspect just wasn't there. Bumpers give a serious mental boost, due to their dimensions. My traps are feeling sore, but less sore than they were a few hours ago, which is good. If they were to feel as sore tomorrow as they felt a few hours ago, I'd have to skip the day, or -at the least- skip PCs, as I'd not be able to generate enough force. I'm playing this by ear. If a particular part (or the whole system) asks me for some extra rest, I'll supply it. Otherwise, already going well.

That's a huge powerclean!

man I'd kill to try a PR with bumpers. My gym has bars that don't revolve properly, makes it tough. I know I can do 225lbs, but too risky to try.

How much can you squat (full/parallel?) and deadlift?

Thanks, Colin.

Yesterday was my first try with bumpers. Man, those things are freakin' awesome. My roommate was begging me to shut up about them, as I was so enthralled by them that I kept mentoning them later in the day. lol

Our bars suck, too, in the fitness center. They had really nice bars in the athletic weight room, though. That's where the damn tuition goes. I am glad I have the code.

I only Squat OLY, and only ATF. I was doing around 535 at the apex of my last Squat-intensive training routine. I rarely push myself on Squats, as I find backing off from them (in terms of weight) serves to help me break plateaus when I hit them hard later on. I tend to not even try to hit five reps, and often do just singles. I do speed work for maintaining.

Deadlifts- I only do SLDLs, but I do them with 500+. I also do Barbell Hack Squats (which is really more of a Deadlift variant than a Squat variant) for a couple period a year, too.

I have never used a belt, wraps, or straps. I want to be able to apply my strength outside of the gym without putting on various assistance items. I like being prepared.

A Raw 535 oly squat is beefy, that's why you can powerclean that much - you are where I want to be one day :)

What are you stats - height, weight, training years etc?
What are you training for, football?

Height= 5'9".

Weight= Just under 220 lbs.

Years training = 6, the first few of which were BBing style.

My goal is simply to become "more able". I am not interested in sports, for the most part. I also try to maintain and improve my aesthetic form.
